Meet Durell

As a Redshirt Sophomore (2020): Appeared in three of five games with two starts at linebacker … Totaled five tackles (three solo), was tied for third on the team with three tackles for loss and stood second on the team with two sacks … Posted three tackles for loss accumulating 17 yards which featured two strip sacks of Rutgers (12/12) QB Noah Vedral, all in the first half, earning him Pro Football Focus National Defensive Player of the Week honors

As a Sophomore (2019): Injured in the preseason and did not appear in game action.

As a Freshman (2018): Appeared in 10 games, missing only the #23 Texas (9/1) and at Indiana (11/10) .. Totaled 15 tackles (eight solo), was fourth on the team with 4.5 tackles for loss, posted one sack, one pass breakup and a blocked kick … Posted first career sack and a blocked kick at #15 Penn State (11/24) … Posted two solo tackles in both the Illinois (10/24) and #9 Ohio State (11/17) games … Had a career-best four tackles and a game-high 1.5 tackles for loss against Minnesota (9/22) … Debuted at Bowling Green (9/8) with two assisted tackles.

Before Maryland: A consensus 3-star recruit across all major recruiting outlets … rated the 15th overall player in the state of Maryland … a First Team All-Metro selection as a senior, posting 10 tackles for loss, seven sacks and three fumble recoveries … the 2017 Coaches 4A All-MoCo Defensive Player of the Year … also received offers from Virginia, Pitt and Syracuse … coached by Michael Nesmith.
